The SOCIEDAD PORTUARIA RIVERPORT SA, has a port concession with the Colombian government for 30 years, which began on May 2, 2006. It is a private port facility that offers public service to the maritime union, to serve bulk carriers of international transit, with average of 30,000 GRT, advancing clean solid bulk unloading operations of import and export of coal or Coke, destined to different ports of the world.

Considering the importance of port activities for the development of Colombian foreign trade and its specialization in the loading of solid bulk such as coal, as well as the type of international transit vessels that it receives in its facilities, they add a special value for the activity port in the city of Barranquilla.

The operation of unloading of clean bulk, begins in March of 2014 and the operation of loading of coal in February of 2016, attending vessels of up to 215 m of length.

2014 On March 20, the first vessel on Pier No1 is received

2015 On October 8, 2015, the first vessel is loaded at Pier No. 2

2017 Riverport Starts coal operations, as a port operator.
